Default Cingular EDGE Problems: Switches to GSM @ My Home - 09-16-2007, 09:25 AM

For the past two days, my Blackberry 8800 has not enabled emails from my home. The network indicator switches from EDGE to GSM when I get within about 1 mile of my house. This has never happened before. I have reported the problem: Cingular says there are no reported outages in the area. Up until Friday night, I have had consistent and stable EDGE coverage in my home in greater Boston?

Sounds like a tower issue to me, considering it was working before. I would call ATT again and try to get it escalated.

Happens to me all the time in the Brookline area. Gives me fits for a few days and then is fine for a month or two. It's always in the same location(s) so I am assuming it is indeed a tower issue.

This never happens to me in Brookline. I was on Route 9 and the signal changed from EDGE to GSM at 850 Boylston Street, and then again back to EDGE on Harvard Street by Coolidge Corner.

Please call Cingular and have them open a similar trouble ticket, so they don;t think this is an isolated case: I have been told I am crazy, that it's my device etc. But really, I have had constant, effective coverage from my home (just off Route 9, near the reservoir), for years, until Friday night/Saturday morning.

I will be glad to open one. I'm in CH on the Brookline/Newton line. If you have a trouble ticket number PM me with it so I can cross referance it when I call them.
