Default Previous Versions of Software - 09-18-2007, 04:21 PM

Anyone have them anywhere?

I'm looking for Verizon's 4.2.2.66 / 3.0.0.45 -- Not sure the package number. This is the last version that I found that actually has good sound quality on the speaker for the ringtones. The newest ruins it and I don't know where to find this.... Let me know and sorry if it was covered already, I searched.

Go to the Sticky note in that 8800 section and in each new OS post, there is normally a link to the previous version, you may have to go back and few, perhaps. I hope it is there for you.

The problem is whenever verizon let out a version, it was only linked to their website, not someone hosting a file. So what I need is to see if someone has the file anywhere.. Any help appreciated.

Also - Is there a way to "roll back" versions?

I've looked everywhere and can't find the old software post in here or the file anywhere. Anyone point me in the right direction?

Also, Verizon and Blackberry are no help what so ever... Verizon says it's impossible to get the old version from them, call Blackberry. Blackberry says I can't use the versions they have because "it's the generic version and the vendor adds software to it so it won't work for your phone"... All i wanted to say was "ha, I delete all the vendor software" but I didn't.

This is a hassle, Send me the old version please!!!

Yea, I just looked at the Sticky thread and it is not in the previous versions.
Perhaps a user did download it and will have it.

Meanwhile, I think other users would debate you on the sound quality matter, I have not heard so many problems with that.

I'm on my 3rd 8830 and two others in my immediate office have them... All of them running on the 4.2.2.66 have great quality and any on the newest seem to have issues (you can't hear them). I'm only debating this from personal experience.

I understand that. I just spent 20 mins looking for that version, and can't find it either.

I can't find it, either. That seems odd that Verizon wouldn't allow previous versions to be downloaded from their site. The other vendors at least give you an option of what version you want to download, in case you want/need to downgrade.
