Hi, I have just purchased TELNAV and its showing INTERNAL GPS in vz 8830. I thought its locked hecne could noy be located. when I tried to use it it shows "WEAK SIGNAL PLEASE GO TO CLEAR SKY VIEW"??
Anyone else has tried this on VZ 8830, i just want to make sure that i have the Hardware, i.e. the GPS, it can be locked but what if VZ completly tampered with 8830 and removed GPS??????

The GPS is there. You just can't use it.

Nor can telanav. They sell pucks for all vz custs it won't work with vz

Verizon people show be used to getting gimped phones so I don't know why it is a surprise. They have been gimping all of their smartphones since I was with them a long time ago.

That is my biggest complaint with Verizon Wireless ... The gimping of the phones, I love their network, it's amazing ... I just wish they would leave the phones alone and not focus on trying to make that extra buck from us for features that should be standard on the mobile device. I remember their first bluetooth enabled headset, and how all the profiles other than handsfree were disabled. Come on Verizon, wake up!
