On the 8830, is there an application akin to Windows Explorer or My Computer that lets you browse through your files? If so, what is the app? If not, does anybody have a link to an app that can be downloaded to do this?

I believe there is a rudimentary explorer in the Media application.

Try dynoplex efile, I believe it is free. I don't use it so I can't tell you how well it works.
