Default Setting the Data Services to OFF when overseas - 09-25-2007, 09:13 PM

Hi,

I have a query.

If I goto options -> Mobile Network -> set the Data Services to OFF. It will stop the mail synchronization.

How about other applications like CHAT ? Weather updates ?

I want to off all these except phone calls and SMS when I am overseas. Will the above do ? or I need to go to individual applications to switch it off (if any) ?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers

Wirelessly posted (Breaking Ball: BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

The above setting will effectively stop all data and leave you with phone and sms only.

Exactly what Penguin said. Stops all data. It'll save you loads of $$$ when roaming internationally. It even stops TCP/IP. You'll see the GPRS/EDGE turn to gprs/edge.

Using emails & pins out of the US is cheaper than a phone call.

Thanks all for the help.

I saw there is an option "Off when Roaming". Does it mean if I set to this option, when I go overseas, Data Services are automatically set to off ?

If it is, this is one great feature

Cheers
