Default 8820 Frequently Rebooting - 09-30-2007, 12:01 PM

Just got a brand new 8820 from AT&T and it frequently is rebooting, red light comes up and then back to the screen I had before it reboots. Very strange, also happens during WIFI access.

Well, I don't have an 8820 but I do have an 8830. The first one I bought from Sprint rebooted constantly. I would say I had at least one reboot per hour for the first 24 hours I owned it.

I took it back, traded it for a new one and the new one hasn't reset once in 60 days. I have to reset it due to the memory leak, but it doesn't crash.

I think you have a bad memory chip or something similar. Trade it.

Like above, I would return it as it may be defective.

Thanks. I plan to take it to one of the corporate AT&T stores today and get them to replace it. This is ridiculous. Brand new and reboots about every 15 minutes.

RIM make some of the most dependable hardware out there. Every once in a while something will get thru that is not working. ATT will replace it without a problem.
