I can only speak for myself, but I have not had any voice issues with the 8830. Now data issues given marginal signal strength -- that's another story.

You have not had people on the recieving end of your calls complain of poor voice quality or of all the surrounding noises being picked up as well?

No. In fact, they have commented that it is an improvement over my previous cell.

Try a Bluetooth Headset, it should improve call quality noticably. When I had a 8830 it had great call quality to me, I used a BT headset all the time and it was perfect.

Not trying to derail your thread, or stall an answer to your problem, but I gotta say the voice quality of my new 8830 is top-notch, both at my end and users on the receiving side. Maybe it's your phone or reception area??

My phone quality appears to be great as long as i am talking from an area that has no other noises to p.u. but if I am talking from a area with other ambient sounds wether it be people, cars, constr, etc the phones speaker appears to p.u. the surrounding sounds as well as my voice which is making it hard for the person on the other end to clearly hear the conversation.
Here is another thread from a month ago http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...me-device.html
and found no solution to this problem then and would like to know if anyone has found a cure or ?

I have had many cell phones and the voice quality on my 8830 is as good as any phone I've had.
