Smile Caller ID not working? - 09-30-2007, 02:00 PM

OK, this is weird, sometimes, when my phone is in the holster, my caller id doesnt seem to be meshing up with my address book. It shows the number with area code but, the callers name and custome ring tones are not present. Any wisdom from the wise on this one? i have tried a power cycle or two....

Have you tried a hard reboot (remove/reinsert the battery while the power is on)?

If not, give that a whirl and see if it helps.

Dunno if this is relevant, but on my Pearl some themes interfeared with Caller ID. At least changing the theme got it back. Could have been coincidental. Also, some of my contacts had been entered with dashes inbetween area code and number. That seemed to muck with Caller ID because when I removed the dashes it all came back.

Also, make certain your smart dialing is set properly at Phone dialer > Options > Smart Dialing.

Make sure your Address Book does not have "content protection" on.
Go to Options
Security Options
General Settings
Makes sure that "Content Protection - Include Address Book" is set to "No"
