Angry 8800: GPS not working - 10-02-2007, 11:56 PM

I got the new 8800 from Tmo and have loaded the latest software from here and also the blackberry and LBX .alx files but still GPS does not work. Option-**->Refresh GPS says Scanning Sats but times out. Have data plan and everything ok.
Any idea?

Where are you testing. First lock can take a bit. Go outside open area and hold the BB away from your body.

There's a guy here on the forum that swears his 8820 from AT&T is GPS crippled. Let us know how it goes with the 8820 and GPS.

That is true John. In that case I will keep my Curve/8320 and not let 8820 go. I am still debating GPS or wiFi and so far I feel that GPS will be better that wiFi because how fast you a BB can render the data (latency). also I have tested the wiFi on Curve at the house and it looks like it keep switching back-n-forth and may be that could a battery drain.

My 8320 stays on UMA almost all the time. I have no UMA issues. The latest OS update sped up the wifi and I'm happy with it.
