You are going to thank me for this, and quit messing with the phone.
Download and install the latesr OS on your computer for the 8900.
Delete vendor.xml
Open BlackBerry™ desktop manager.
Click on application.
Take the battery out of the BlackBerry™.
Connect it to the computer.
Now you have to be fast, once the device begins to start, click on application loader.
BlackBerry™ desktop manager will say un-recognized PIN click next and let it install the OS.
Once it is done, your BlackBerry™ will work again.

Quit messing with the BlackBerry™ , you are stepping into uncharted waters, I was able to help you this time, next time you may end up with a $500 paper weight.

do what ^ he said... if you can't fix it i'll give you $250 for it

if you can't get it to go .. try
opening Application Loader >
Click Start (for Add/ Remover Programs) >
a "Device Connection" window will appear. Once you ahve that window open. Plug the device in with no battery but have your mouse over the "ok" button and as soon as it is clickable click it!

BIG THANK YOU for this solution. I was attempting to unlock my 8900 with MFI and got right to the end before it bricked it. I think I was working my way toward your solution, but you certainly saved me a few hours of frustration in the process.

This Method and all other methods not working for me. I desperately need help.

When I plug in a charger (be it wall or car) it does not work.
It only works when USB is plugged in and by 'works' i mean it turns on at the least.
The red light come on and when it detects on the computer and then un-detects
While I try to connect quickly with Application loader, the light stays on for a shorter time
(It turns off right when it starts connecting to device (ARM)

and that's where it ends. It does not pass the ARM stage because it turns off.

Now without any apps turned on, The red light comes on and then turns off and a few seconds later, the screen says 'No application linked - Factory OS)

Please help. I dont know what to do.
