Default Clock question

The Jav 8900 has a neat thing in which you can choose when the clock (and its alarm) will show as a screen saver (there are 3 modes for this: do nothing, display while charging or bedside mode). Problem is, it can only be displayed while charging. Does anyone know if there's way to make this clock "screen saver" permanent (that the clock will appear every time the phone is in a "sleep" mode or being awakened)?

I'm interested in this as well.

Like have the clock be visible when the screen dims after inactivity, like some other phones do. Like you can just barely see the clock even if the phone is in standby. is this possible? Love that flip clock look.
