| I read about this ... um ... somewhere else this morning.
First try, no love.
Tried again, all good.
I have one on the way!
ETA: if at first you don't succeed, be polite, say thanks, hang up, try again. Some reps are doing it, some are not.

| same here... only 4 months on a 2 year contract. they are giving me partial discount of like $70 less only, which costs me for $429. i said, no way i'd rather get a new contract with verizon or att for like $149 with storm-verizon or bold-att and cut my subscription $200 termination fee, which costs me less than what they are offering me. tried it several times and no success. i'll wait one more week to give them a chance. | | Offline

| Oddest thing. I called up and it actually went through. The only thing that I noticed that was a bit off was that the CSR didn't have me go through the automated system to agree for the new 2-Year contract extension. I did get a confirmation number, though.

| Confirmed. Just called 611 and spoke to Kristen. Told her I had heard the phone had just been released....she checked and said, yes, it had been released just a couple days ago. With full upgrade eligibility, price is:
2 year contract - $299 minus $100 MIR
1 year contract - $349 minus $100 MIR
no contract - $500
UPS Ground shipping (7 days) is free
Expedited (3 days) is $19.99.
And of course, add taxes. | | Offline

| Tried the 4th time.. this time I said that if it is not available, I will be actually porting out my number to AT&T and on top of that they are giving Citibank employees 55% discount on Blackberry Bold and 22% discount on monthly plans (which is actually true). She immediately said that I qualify as business customer and I can upgrade. can you believe that?? anyways it should be coming by Thursday and I can play with it in the coming weekend ... woohoo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| Congrats to all that are getting this early. I tried 4 times and NO luck. I keep getting that they are only for business customer stock and would have to wait till 2/11. At this point, they probably have notes on my account that I called a few times... | | Offline

| Interesting. When I called, I didn't ask IF it was available, simply said I had heard that it was just released. The rep said she thought it wasn't out yet but when she checked, said, oh, looks like it was just released a couple of days ago.
I am not a business customer nor anything special except for being a "loyal customer for 8 years" and being eligible for full upgrade discount. It's amazing that different people get different results.
