Orange data plan (UK)

Orange 'Blackberry with Internet' which I got with my 8900, looks as though it's 'Blackberry with e-mail, plus web if you can find a wi-fi'.

I'd read on the forums that the basic blackberry data plan is something ridiculous like 6Mb, but it can stretch very far using plaintext e-mails and compression.

My boyfriend is asking nasty questions about 'is it 6Mb a month? a year? forever?' and 'will they gouge you heavily if you overdo it, or just cap the service?'

So, what's the deal?

Also, can I use instant messaging, and how much data does that use up, roughly?

Regards, Woofb

Hi I,ve just upgraded with Orange been a long term customer and this is my package. I upgraded from a M3100 SPV (ORANGE) phone with windows Mobile prior to which I had a Nokia N70 which apart from norton security rubbish add on was a cracking little phone. The M3100 was also a good phone if you removed the default orangeworld config over to windows standard. People didn't relise at the time this would solve the majority of disconnection and user problems.

Anyway here is my current package

600 Minutes Anytime Any Network mins
250 Webextra X network Minutes for life.
Free Evening and Weekend Calls (X network)
250Mb per month using Internet Browser in Browser config see blackberry screen on open
500Mb per month WAP orange world browser in BC seeing Orange logo on open
Unlimited Texts

35 per month

Just upgraded to 8900 on the same 35 pm plan, but persuaded to tae the extra 5 pm 'web pack' - have I been done over by the Orange operator/salesperson??

Don't think so I pay an extra for orangecare as well. Is that included in your package?

What's included in the "web pack"?
