Default Uncaught Exception

Please Login to Remove!

Hi guys

Everytime I boot up my BB I get this message:

"Uncaught Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException"

And I have to press OK to move on.

I get this message also when I try to delete a contact from my Calls Log, and refuses to delete it.

What's going on?

I did a quick bit of googling. Apparently from what I can tell the error occurs based on a few different things but basically because something on your blackberry is missing or corrupt. The biggest culprit seems to be a corrupt data entry in your address book.

Another few people have said this error appears when one of their themes or apps were trying to find and use a resource or picture that wasn't on the device any longer.

Since you are also getting this error when trying to delete a contact from Call Log, I'm thinking it has to do with a corrupt data entry in your address book.

Here is a link to the blackberry technical support document about the error message here.

Now I haven't had this error myself so I'm just going on what I'm reading, but this doc does give a possible workaround. Or you can try to isolate the corrupt entry like it says via the Resolution section. It doesn't have a direct link to how to enable advanced logging but I found the doc it points to for instructions here.
