I was wondering if there was any free software to allow remote connections from the BlackBerry Curve 8900 to Windows based OSs?
I have seen a few on Handandgo but they are around 50USD which I am not prepared to pay. I haven't many quarms on what protocols are being used, whether it be the VNC or RDP-style client. As long as I can simply install the software on my device (and the computer that I need the access to, if need be) and fire away I'll be satisfied.
I do not know of any free apps that have the functionality you are looking for. There are a few paid apps that are very good.
There is a special version of "J2ME VNC" that supposedly works. I could get it to load the screen but cound never figure out how to click the mouse.
You can find it here: J2ME VNC - Blackberry port
Edit: Also, you will need to install a VNC server on your windows box, which can be very complicated. VNC works great with Linux, though.
Clicking the mouse is a press on the spacebar.
I find this program to be rather unstable, however. It continuously crashes.
I can live with the crashing, though. What really counts the program out for me is that it will not function over wi-fi.
