just received my 8900 (tmobile version) in the mail. can i upgrade the firmware of the phone without a sim card in it?

can i update the phone without unlocking it, or should i wait for the unlock code and update the firmware later? does it matter which way i do it?

ok just updated my first phone (i have 3 that i need to update)... for the 2 others i don't need to delete the vendor file again (cause i deleted it before updating the first one)?

basically once i have deleted the vendor file once i can update as many phones as i want and dont need to delete the vendor file again because it would already be deleted?

It shouldn't re-appear unless you load a new OS to Desktop manager. If it does re-appear, just delete it again.

Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and look for "Vendor.XML"

If you see the file, delete it.
