heres the question to anyone that works for t-mobile...

first some brief history..
Bought a 8900 over the phone with t-mobile.. got delivered and i was charged full price 499 on my bill then discounted 250 bringing my total to 200 dollars over my monthly bill. i felt this phone was defective (keyboard moved, battery cover loose) called and had them send me another 8900. they said i had to send my phone in first for them to send me a new one and i told them absolutely not at which time they said they would send me a new 8900 and as soon as i got it to send my old one in.. they said they would charge me for it if they did not receive the old phone. They also told me that i would see the full price charge of the new phone they sent me but then it credited back to me on my bill because they said thats how they have to bill it. i got the new phone on the 11th and i have not sent in the old one yet and i have not seen anything change on my bill..although i didnt like a loose battery cover or keyboard i wouldnt mind keeping the phone and have 2 8900 ... how long does it take before these kinds of charges show up on a bill.. do you think they just messed up with my account and im not gonna get charged for it?? is there any way to find out with out blowing my own cover and being charged for it... any insight would be grateful

thanks guys

Wirelessly posted (My Curve)

I wouldn't suggest doing that. But it should be on within a month or 2 of the date u got the replacement. And they will charge you for the whole 500 dollars for the new phone

the first one hit my bill with in days of getting it.... this one has been almost 2 weeks... a month or 2? seems wrong ... also if all the sudden it hit my bill i would play dumb and say "ohhh i thought you were gonna contact me to send it in, ill ship it back tomorrow" and then ill send the phone in because i am not going to get rid of it...

No Way!... if i can keep i will.. i have given them enough money in my life that if they mess up there billing im keeping the phone.. i guess the question is "what are the chances they will catch on to there screw up" the question is not "is this morally right or wrong"

What really is the point of letting the Forum members know of your scheme?
Seems you had it all planned already . . .

... it's still too early to tell if indeed they had screwed up... it usually takes 2 billing cycles for this thing to appear. . . and believe me, they will apear.

Look, I dont have the moral hang ups that some of the members here have.. so i was asking if someone here had some insight on this situation, not whether you agree with it or not..

This is actually ridiculous. You're apparently some genius that cracked their system to get a free 2nd phone and no one else figured it out? How sad that one of the MIT Bringin' Down the House kids has resorted to ripping off mobile carriers. Tough times I guess.

The chances are either 100% or 0%. You'll find out either way. They may possible be waiting for you to return the phone within the allotted time period before they bill you, and once you exceed that time period you could possibly not be eligible for the refund for the 2nd phone, I'd be careful about their policy on that matter if I were you.

Your situation is a little different because you got a 2nd phone because the first one was defective (the one you still have). But they sent you another one to replace that one, so maybe they consider your first one within the 14 day trial period for returns (replacing the second one that's supposedly operating normally, see what I mean?

30 days form the day you ordered the replacement. It will be the full cost of the device and a handling charge.

I'd even be worried if you kept it too long and they didn't accept it back due to that. The longer you have it the less valued it is to them IMO.
