Default I LOVE my Javelin!!

Wow, this phone is so awesome. It's everything I loved about the Curve, but faster, sharpter, brighter, everything!! The internet on my home network is so fast and the GPS is awesome!! I never would have gotten it so cheap without reading BBF, thanks guys!!

i've had it for a little over 24 hours and love the device too.


some positive points-

i, like everyone else, can't say enough great things about the screen. do yourself a favor and download some nice wallpapers, set it on slideshow, and get blown away.

the music player is incredible. i use a sansa clip (which is a highly rated mp3 player) on a daily basis and will go on say that the music player on the 8900 has better sound quality. oh, i was even using the 8900 music player with the stock earphones. i haven't even tried using my premium sennheiser earbuds or connected it to my stereo system. i can't wait.

wifi browsing using the berry browser and the bolt browser work great after a few tweaks; like turning javascripts off.


a couple negative notes-

my pc just will not detect the device. it will charge it but it can't detect the pin. the latest software i installed will detect my old pearl but not the new curve. i always seem to have this issue with a new blackberry device and although frustrating i always find a fix. for now i guess i'll put off upgrading the OS for a later time. i can use the device as a media storage so transferring pics, vids, and music isn't a problem.

while viewing pics on the screen look stunning but the video playback isn't as impressive. i know this device can play stunning vids like the john mayor sample included in the phone but i can't seem to get the vids i transfer to the phone to look as good. i tried formatting to the 480x360 res and even upped that to a higher res but still very pixelated compared to the john mayor vid. i know it's all trial and error and with the help of the BB community we'll find an acceptable conversion process.

As for your pc recognizing your bb - do you have the latest desktop manager installed (v 4.7)?

yes i've got the latest one. i'll call rim about it when i have some time. then again, no reason to switch over to the new OS if youtube isn't working on it.
