I always thought I did a good job of managing my old curve with about 12-14mb of file free total until I came here, followed some simple advice and nearly doubled it.
Now I pose the same question about the 8900. I sit @ 128911960 right now on my 2nd day with all my apps installed. Is this good? Could it be dramatically improved? What's yours at right now? (Alt + caps lock + H)

There is MUCH more on-board memory with the 8900 and you should be fine for a LONG time without having to optimize and or delete stuff!
122 MB is obviously more than enough for smooth running of your phone.. however if you are a 'hoarder' of memory.. you can still follow John Clarks Memory Optimization process.
If you want more memory.. use this DOS batch file. Put this batch file in the "Java" folder and then double click it to run it. Once done, run your app loader to update the same on your berry and will you should gain around 25MB of memory. Hope this helps !!!
I wouldn`t worry to much about the free space if you have already installed a bunch of apps and such. I would recommend a memory card tho! I`m at roughly 10MB less than that.
Again, anything under 15mb you will start running into issues... However, with the 8900, you have a LONG way to go since there is plenty memory. I would say enjoy this BB and not worry about the memory just yet or ever
