I've heard many reports in person and online about the battery cover bit. Don't worry about it. And, as far as the bezel is concerned, just paint it. Replacing the bezel is actual work. You have to slice the hidden buttons under the top off.

Call T-Mobile and let them know if its a problem - I wouldnt try replacing the bezel on a new device thats under warranty - They will ship a replacement under warranty, takes a few days and then when the new one arrives you just return the old one.

You could try at the store first if you like - just tell them your all set if you dont get the answer you want and then call t-mo to get the above. I've always had better experiences with t-mo direct via phone.

Wirelessly posted (Bold 9000)

Do you mean that the battery cover has a loose fit?

My bold was like that. All I did was put a business card in there amd there's no more moving or squeeky sounds.

This is a build issue with almost all the 8900's. My 1st 8900 had a very shaky door.. I took a risk of getting it replaced as the next one could possibly have the same issue. However, the 2nd was tad better which was acceptable to me. I doubt anything can be done with shaky keyboard.

I would accept the 8900 with the scratched bezel. T-Mobile would be glad to replace that device. You can list all your problems. When you order the replacement, you can request them to expedite the shipping (2 day air). Once you get the new one, ship the old one back. It would cost you less than $10 and T-Mobile would actually credit that amount to your account.

I would not replace the bezel unless I want a black one. But doing this would void my warranty. There is actually a small sticker over one of the screws and if you remove that you basically void warranty which is not recommended. It is a little bit of

If you got the 8900 from a store you can do it from a store but if you got it online.. i think you need to get a replacement online itself.. but hey.. if you have a store nearby, you can try there once.

Hope it answers your queries.

Ok...First off, do not attempt to replace or paint the bezel. Absolutely not necessary on a device that is a week old. As for the battery door issue, welcome to the new world order of loose blackberry battery doors. Seriously, RIM needs to stop this BS and get it right! Stuff like that annoys the crap out of me. Sticking business cards behind a battery door is not what I have in mind when I buy a new device. Never had to do that on any of my Nokia devices or better yet any of my other devices that I own. And last, get used to the bezel getting scratched. It's a very cheap painted plastic, and there is really nothing you can do to avoid it besides sticking it in a skin. The loose keyboard was present on the previous Curve, so expect it on newer ones. These are all Build quality issues, and to a lot of people they are easily dismissed because it's what's under the hood that really matters to a lot of folks. I'd recommend returning it and trying out a new one, can't hurt, and you've only had it for a week. Good
Luck with your next one ; )
