I just got a holster for the first time and am loving it, the only problem I'm having is that when I receive a text, it pops up automatically when I pull my phone out of the holster and is marked as read. The text message itself doesn't pop up, just the SMS list with all my texts. Is there a way to disable this behavior? Thank you.

If you pull the phone from the holster within 15 seconds of receiving the message, it will open the message. If you wait beyond 15 seconds, it will not open the message. It is designed this way. There's no way of changing it.

I love RIM, they've really made my life better with the BB but so many things leave me scratching my head sometimes. It seems asinine not to allow the user to turn that feature off. Oh well. The 8900 is so awesome this doesn't even really phase me.

It's a great feature with email messages. I love being able to pull my phone out and have the message automatically open. To each their own. I can see how this could be bothersome. Now that I know how it works, I just wait a little before I remove it from the holster if I don't want it to open.
