This may be so obvious to most of you, but as being a new user of BB8900, I am not sure where in the device those BB applications will be downloaded to? Specifically,
If I download them to my desktop and copy them into BB8900 using desktop manager, should they be downloaded/uploaded (and installed) into the device memory or media card?
If I download the applications by using the device itself, where are they downloaded in the device memory? Is there a default folder?
If possible to download/install the application to either to the devise or the media card, is there any difference in performance (speed, etc) between these two choices?

All applications on the BlackBerry are installed to the device memory.

Whether you install them using Desktop Manager or Over The Air, you should find the icon for the app after installation on the home screen of the BlackBerry, or in a folder named Downloads.

When I use Desktop Manager (DM), I do not see a folder named Downloads for the device although it is avialable in the device menu. The only folders I see in the devise, through Media manager of DM, are Documents, Video, Pictures, Videos, Ringtones and Voicetones. Where (which folder) in the device should I upload/move the application from my desktop to the device?

None of them. This is not a windows computer where you decide which folder you install an application into.

Instead, you will fun Application Loader within Desktop Manager, you may need to use the 'add' function to navigate to the applications *.alx file and install following the prompts with which you are presented. It will install the application where it belongs on the BB.
