Using Gmail isn't a bad idea. However, waiting 4 or 5 minutes to get an email from TMO's BIS isn't at all uncommon. A lot of it has to do with timing. I believe TMO only pushes their BIS emails about every 10 minutes.

Typical email runs wit a 15 minute delay. However, it just depends where you are int he cycle. RIM polls every 15 mintes and pushes what it finds to the device and repolls in 2-3 minutes. If mail is found, that is also pushed and it repolls in 2-3 minutes until no mail is found, at which time the system reverts to a 15 min poll

Gmail is always faster for me...much faster.

Also, email sent from your BB will have a copy in the Sent folder of your Gmail account.

Gmail also has the best spam filter, I think.

IMHO
