Default Worth the full purchase price?

Please Login to Remove!

I have been thinking I will get my wife one of these for her birthday coming up, among other things. The problem is there is a year left on her contract. I am willing to pay full price for the phone, if it is truly a great phone. I did my online research and the reviews were positive. However, I also want real people's opinions on the phone, because after all people will say anything for money.

Also, I plan on purchasing from this website, based off of a friend's recommendation (any feedback on this site?):

It is a nice beautiful phone. It works smoothly with the available applications. Internet connections, browsing the websites (with Opera Mini or Bolt), quality of photographs are excellent. Pushing the company mail is working so nicely. Actually, I get my mails with BB earlier than my desktop to get my mail (Groupwise). Some users have concerns about the short battery life, but mine is fine. Besides all these, you can even make phone calls, which seems to be not the most important feature of the smart phones anymore.

Is it worth to pay the full price? Hey, she is your wife. It is her birthday. It depends on how much you love her. If that will increase your happiness, the answer is YES. Warning: The above being the case, she will certainly spend more time with this phone. It is hard not to. After all we are talking about BB 8900. Consider this in your decision.

Consider adding a line for $10 more a month and get the phone at discounted price. After a year cancel one of the lines. In a year the extra line will only add about $120 and added to the $199 discounted price would still be much less than the full retail.
Doc

Just checked the link you had in your post. With the contract adding line and rebate you can get pretty cheap but you have to make the final decision.

I would say 8900 is worth a full purchase price. I just love it very much... so much that whenever someone wants to hold it in their hands I just do not want to give them.

Blackberry's are sort of a love or hate kind of thing. Most people that own them end up loving them and becoming huge fans of their Blackberries.

The Curve 8900 is a highly technical piece of equipment. It is without a doubt way up on the top shelf of technical capabilities, functionality, and best of all--practicality.

Does your wife appreciate technical functions on a phone? Does she need the things that the 8900 offers? Some people find Curve's a big too big, too intimidating, and too much, and go for a pearl.

Bottom line is, if she likes all the stuff the 8900 can do, then absolutely it will be worth it. These are very nice phones.

Well I bought mine, but here in Italy we have a different mentality and most people buy rather than contracts, and in the long run it works out cheaper anyway..If your wife is a bit of a geek she will love it, if she wants a normal type of phone then go for the Pearl, even the flip is fun I have that to
