Hi!

I'm using 8900 with BIS plan. Set up my Yahoo, everything went well. It marks emails as read on server, etc. I have 2 issues with email though:

1. I don't want sent email to display in my main box on BB
2. I want to get email from other folders in Yahoo. For example, I have some specific email filters set to move mail into created folders. I don't get those on BB

Your first question is quite easy. Log into your BIS account and create a filter indicating that you do not want messages that you create sent to your device (phone). As for your second question, with IMAP mail, you can have additional folders display on your phone. I can definitely do that with my Gmail account. With yahoo, I only have POP3. It may be possible with a Yahoo Plus account.

Ok, pardon my ignorance, but how do I "log into BIS account"?

I have Y! Plus, so I should be able to. Where do I go to check for those options?


To set email I just ran wizard, typed email and password..

If you have set up a T-mobile account online, you an go to the t-mobile website, log in and then click on something in reference to email and there you can add, edit and remove any email accounts you set up or have already set up via your blackberry. I used to have t-mobile and I'm trying to remember as best as I can. Secondly, you *should* be able to use the setup email feature on your blackberry to edit your email accounts including adding filters. Lastly, with your Y! Plus account, you *should* be able to do what you desire regarding folders especially if it allows for IMAP use.

Can't find anything. I can change display name, BCC and stuff like this but can't find anything about filters. BB Email setup takes me to TMobile site, so I guess that would be the same, however I didn't find anything email-related when logged into T-Mobile account.

Does anybody here use Yahoo with BB and folders? This is not very critical as those emails mostly from lists and I don't care about them as much but still..

Yahoo (even the plus version) does not currenty have IMAP. I was looking for it yesterday and found that it is only POP.

when you log into your tmobile account, scroll to the bottom under "Messaging". Click on the link that says "Set up BlackBerry Internet e-mail >"

If you want to hide your sent emails you don't have to log into your BIS account, just in messages hit your menu button (BlackBerry logo button next to the trackball) and go to options - general options - "Hide sent messages" and select yes. Yahoo does not show the send email like gmail so you don't need to setup a filter

I got "sent" email under control. As far as folders - no luck. I still didn't find where to modify in t-mobile account and when I called they told me that only BES accounts can deal with folders.

Is it just me or Yahoo has issues today? I can't re-register service and if I do succed (from 3rd attempt) then I won't get any email.

If I just go mobile.yahoo.com I get error 503...

Another issue I have right now. I upgraded to new OS and now I have a glitch with Yahoo email. Icon shows that I have new mail and when I move over it - it shows (2) that I have 2 messages.

On top I don't see any notification and I don't have blinking light. I don't have new message either. How do I make this icon to reflect it properly? I did "reconcile" but it didn't help
