I don't own the phone yet but I have a question.

I hear that the 8900 comes preloaded with most major IM clients so that they can be used easily. My question is, would these work with Wi-Fi or do you need to have a Data plan? So far all I have is unlimited SMS and MMS so that's not really a data plan.

Also, My Samsung Blast lets me sign into Windows Live, Yahoo, and AIM but my 8700c doesn't let me sign in to them unless I use T-Zones, but I don't know if they charge me so I don't use those.

You need to have a data plan for the IM clients to work.

Have had a couple builds on my 8900, but all of them with BBIM only =/

I'm using BeejiveIM, the only BB app I ever purchased. Connections via WiFi are possible with this client, as well as via (provider) APN/TCP or BB dataplan.

Huh? So I can use that client with Wi-Fi? and it will work?
