I purchased my BlackBerry 8900 Curve device last week and finally got it yesterday and noticed that it's keyboard layout is AZERTY.
I've been trying to look for keyboard layout changes in settings but couldn't find anything, and i need QWERTY layout on it, so i decided to update my device with Rogers/T-mobile/Vodafone OS since they got QWERTY layout on their devices, but it remained the same, AZERTY.

Just to confirm, are there any hardware difference on AZERTY and QWERTY phones or just OS differences?

Kindly shed some light since I'm not very comfortable with AZERTY

I assume that it is a hardware issue, but I don't know. I do believe that the European layout is also different and can't be changed.

Might look into replacing the keypad if it is that big of a difference. Or maybe send it back and specify a QWERTY keypad.

Yes, about the keypad i've just ordered QWERTY designed one from cnn which i tought to swap, but i don't think it is related to that at all, meaningless.
Unfortunantely, i can't send it back since there is only AZERTY devices in France, which i am aware of now ;(

You're out of luck. You got a Eurpean handset. You should have got a Rogers or Tmo USA unit instead.
