I personally think the speakerphone is awesome. I just got my 8900 today and it's loud, clear, and doesnt seem to pick up too much backround noise.

It's great. I don't use it that much but when I do it's 100% better than my pearl, and I actually bought an aftermarket battery cover with speaker cutout for my 8100. And it's plenty loud too.

Check Seidio from time to time, they make a battery door with an opening for the speakerphone to be louder.

I use the speaker phone nearly every day and have never had a problem. I use the speaker phone mainly when driving and the phone is in the cradle and never had a problem hearing the caller or them hearing me.

I use the speakerphone for 95% of calls. Have no worries as the speakerphone works very well.

I hit this thread a bit late, I was going to say it's kinda quiet. I'll check for that other door.
