Default NEW BB 8900, setting email problem

Please Login to Remove!

I have abrand new 8900 on vodafone.

Trying to set up my email but in the settings it only gives me the option to use a work enterprise email address. Ive been told this is because i have an enterprise handset not a consumer.

Can i change this my self somehow or isit only vodafone 2nd line who have the authority too ?

i tried phoning them but they have ques and i gave up after 3 hours of waiting, rediculous. !!

cheers in advance people, appreicate any help as untill i get it sorted i cant have any applications or anything

You need to have a BlackBerry Data Plan for push email. That's why you aren't getting the option for email to be setup. You need to contact your carrier for this.

Are you on a BES or a BIS?

Well, you stated "ive been on the mobileemail.vodafone BES server ", so I'm wondering what you meant by that if you aren't sure if you are on a BIS or a BES.

Since your OP indicated that you didn't seem to want to use Enterprise, I'm guessing that you are on a BIS if this is your personal device and not a corporate device. And that you actually meant that you were on Vodaphone's BIS site.

And just because you were able to go too your carrier's website and send your service books does not mean that the data plan is properly set up. In fact the lack of the personal email setup option would indicate that the plan is NOT properly set up.

You need to call your carrier. Sorry about the long wait, but that's the only way unless you email their customer support.
