backing up and restore?

hey guys,

i just got my 8900 today and im loving it! i got it from tmobile. the OS is .114.
i want to go upgrade it to .199 and do i need to back up anything? i just got it and it has no contact or any messages on it. if so, how do you back up while upgrading it to .199.

The upgrade process does backup the information and 3rd party appications on the phone. It does not take a backup of the OS itself. Not a big concern because you can download .114 from T-Mobile if you choose to downgrade.
