Default EN in the top right corner of text messages?

Please Login to Remove!

I have no idea how it got there but anytime I'm texting I have EN in the top right corner. Anyone know how to make it go away?

¡Hola mi amigo!

Utilizing the search feature will yield many threads on this topic. Please give that a try. ¡Gracias!

I always try a search first. I just tried again and the only result was this thread. I even tried google and found a thread on crackberry (before posting this thread even) that said the only option was to reformat. I have a hard time believing that's true, as I've been told several "bugs" required reformat even though I was able to find solutions for all of them (a good example being a rogue message indicator). anyway, thanks for your help. anyone else?

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but I searched on "en upper corner", and found these two methods for removing the icon.

HOW TO: Remove 'EN' icon from screen

EN icon

Try the first method first. It worked for me.

dc/dc, you aren't coming across as a jerk, but your links are not helpful and do not answer velocity92c's question. velocity92c said the only solution he/she found online was to reformat the device and asked if anyone knew of any other solutions - your second link goes to a thread that recommends reformatting the device. Also, it appears as though velocity92c is using a BB 8900 - your first link goes to a threat that describes a solution to this problem for the BB Storm (and does not work on the 8900).

I have the same problem that velocity92c is experiencing and the suggestions available online are not helpful, unless you want to reformat the device. I second the question - if anyone has any suggestions to solve this problem that will work on the 8900 and do not involve reformatting the device, please share them.

I'll forgive you as it is your first post, but the links I posted WILL help. I used the tip in the first thread I posted when I had the problem on my Bold and it does not require a reformat.
