Is there any way to modify this screen in any way?
Even if there isn't, is there any way to stop the (to me) irritating result that used bookmarks become a most-recently-used bookmark function at the top of that screen? The same thing happens in history on the bottom of the screen, but the history cache is easy enough to clear.... I don't want to clear the bookmarks -- i just don't want them on that screen. The behavior I'd like is for a specific list of bookmarks to always appear on that screen no matter what bookmarks I've used in the interim.

I have not run across away to edit these particular settings.
