Unhappy Backup & address book

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all moderators and users,
I've just made a Backup from my BB8900 in order to wipe it.
When finished, restoring my data didn't give me back only my address book!
Calendar, e-mails, customisations, wallpaper, etc. was restored correctly.
Unfortunately I did never synchronised with my Outlook for Calendar and Address book previously, because Desktop Manager was installed for BES and calendar and address book are from OTA.

Disaster for me because it's my principal work tool.

FYI, I'm in BES for MDS applications ONLY and BIS for my e-mails.

If someone knows how something like this can happend I'll appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums.

Connect your device to your PC, launch DM and select Backup/Restore. From there, select Advanced. You should be able to restore just the address book. It will be in the left column.

Question

Hi jsconyers,
thank you to answer so fast.
just did it and in the left column nothing appear, just the list of my BB database on the right column. I can select some lines and add them to the left, but by default it seems to be empty.

When you're in the advanced restore screen, click on File > Open and locate your .ipd backup file.

Is wireless sync enabled on your address book?

Perhaps this might be useful. I synced for the first time with Outlook recently and I realized all synced fine except the address book even though memory was allocated for it. After some frantic search I found out that filters were applied by default via the categories and as soon as I disabled the one selected, all of them appeared.

Smile Solved

Hi BlackBerry sorcerer,
I found the solution. In the options of Address book wireless sync was enabled, the in the desktop manager I could set bidirectional sync with the Outlook profile.
Thank you for your help.
