1- Attachments. Look at your device > Options > Advanced > Applications > scroll down and do you see "BlackBerry Attachment Service" listed?

2- Review the RIM Knowledge Base article linked here. I do not believe that Hotmail will reconcile your deletes from the Server to the device. If it did in the past, I can't speak to that.

3- I would suggest you delete your Service Books for this Hotmail account (or whichever it is that you are having Get Image issues with) at Options > Advanced > Service Books. Then open you personal email setup icon, or go to your carrier BIS site and delete that account completely, then recreate it, AND resend the Service Books again. Meanwhile, do a battery pull reboot on the handheld device to completely remove the deleted service books from the device.

Well, it just seems to go from bad to worse!!

1. Yes, I have got the BB Attachment application. I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling again.

2. It is a shame that it's saying they're not compatable when it quite clearly worked in the first 2 months of having the phone!

3. I have just done as you suggested, deleting the service books for my hotmail account. There were 2 to delete (CICAL & CMIME) but for the same e-mail address. I then created the e-mail account again and resent the service books. Took the battery out for a minute then switched it back on.
I then found all my e-mails had vanished (I thought they'd still be there even though the account was deleted). So great, back to square one again there.
I have also tried to open an e-mail with an attachment since doing the above - only to now get this message "More request cannot be completed. Service book information not found".

So now, if it's at all possible, I think I'm even worse off!

You're getting somewhere. Keep an open mind and a good attitude, and you will get all the help you need, right here.

You need service books...

Thanks for your patience with me :)
Are the service books something I will need to request from the useless people at the 02 call centre!? I have just had a look here BlackBerry from O2 - Help and support for them, but no joy.
I'm now not receiving any e-mails, but I assume that's due to not having any service books...
