Default DM Upgrade Question

Please Login to Remove!

I just started to download DM 4.6 for my new 8900. Forgot to research and can't remember what I did from 4.2 to 4.5.

Do I have to delete the old DM 4.5 and Media Mgr or just install over top of?

Thanks,

Ken

Thanks,

I may go back to 4.5 if I can't get 4.6 to work. Also, seems since I put 4.6 on my internet connection has been iffy after start for awhile.

SOLVED!!!!!!!!

I was the who found and resolved this problem when I went from DM 4.2 to 4.5 and forgot. 4.2 doesn't require an internet connection, so it worked for me. Still don't know why I can't sync with 4.5 and 4.6. Maybe a Firewall or Outlook setting. I checked and didn't find anything. It may also stop the "update device" window problem other people are complaining about, since this workaround eliminates the need to be connected to the internet to sync. It prevents the internet connection. This is how I got 4.5 to work and just forgot about.

Now I can enjoy the phone and post hopefully easier problems to resolve.

1 Click start
2 run
3 type REGEDIT
4 on the left hand side find the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Synchronize\0x24a82dfc
5 On the right hand side find and double click "STATE"
6 Change the #1 to a #0 and your BB will sync without connecting to the internet.
