I have recently purchased a 8900 and it was easy to set up and I received SMS texts no problem, but now I have an icon to say I have a new text but when I select the Text Icon the display of the list of messages ends several week ago! Where have my latest texts gone?
Why are thay not showing?
And in that SMS menu my trackball does not work so cannot select any of the old messages either, but I could only yesterday!
I am baffled!
Can anyone help me? Has anyone had the same problem?
I have tried turning the phone off and back on again to no avail.
I am not sure if I understand your questions fully.
For your first question, go into Messages > Options > General Options. What do you have keep messages set to? If you have it set to 30 days, then anything older than 30 days will be deleted.
Are you saying you're unable to open any messages you've received prior to yesterday? Try removing the battery from the device for 30 seconds.

Thank you for your help. The latter solved my problem. I removed the battery and all my messages re-appeared! You fixed in 30 seconds what I have tried to resolve in 3 days!
And you inadvertantly answered my other query on how to delete multi messages at once.
