Default screen keeps coming on

Please Login to Remove!

im not sure if this problem still exists with the new .206 but my dad is running the 4.6.1.94/4.2.0.69 and when you keyboard lock, and put it down on the counter or w.e. and watch the screen turn off, about 4 min (the time it takes to turn on varys from time to time) later it comes on and stays on, keyboard is still locked but what is causing this? a guy at the rogers outlet suggested that it needs to be in the official holster with the magnets to keep the screen turned off, i find that odd, bc with all my other 8700, 8100, 8120, 8800 it doesn't do that just on the 2 8900's that we have

ohk i have the new .206 on MY phone and it still does the same problem i used the top lock key and it still happens what could the problem be?

thanks for the help!!

Wirelessly posted (8820)

There's no other event happening like a calendar alert activating?

Has the BB been exposed to ANY moisture? Like being in the bathroom during a shower or in your pocket and not in the holster?
It would not take much for my 8300 to act like it was under control by some outside force.

Moisture is a good suggestion....... and people have had trouble just with their blackberry in a pocket and getting themselves a little sweaty.

i think i may have found a possible solution to why the screen keeps coming on, i had installed trapster (the GPS program that warns you of cop hangouts and photo radar) and in the settings there was a option to "keep backlight on". i uninstalled the program and i THINK that was the problem bc i haven't noticed the screen come on while it was on keyboard lock today, but i was busy and wasnt really looking for it

That could be it. But the confusing thing is why the screen would go off. When I've used those settings, the screen stays on; does not go off for a while and then come back on.

Regardless, if you've removed the app and the issue is gone for good, then that was it.
