Hello to all,

I am from europe and i wanna move from iphone to blackberry curve but i've heard the blackberry is a little diffrent,i need data plan for browser and app and a BIS for push email.
Can you guys explain me exactly what blackberry services works on BIS and wich don't?
Also what services work on 3g/edge carrier data plan and wich services does't work?
Same on wifi,what services work and wich don't?

To get push email and the BB browser, you must have a BB data plan from your carrier. A quick search or read of the FAQ would have provided this info:

ok,i have a few more questions,i understood now the blackberry branded app works only with blackberry data plan,the other 3rd party app works with a normal data plan.
i heard from a friend the 8900 curve browser works without a bb data plan is that right? if so i suposed i can install app over the air using bb original browser right?
also do you guys used google sync(contacts + calendar) over the air?does it works without bb data plan? does it work with normal data plan or wifi?
also on the link about wifi it said gmail doesn't work on wifi,the gmail app or the gmail server?
what apps works on wifi?
i heard curve's browser works with normal data plan(not bb data plan) but on wifi it doesn't work.

3rd party apps typically require BIS data plan and not any other type of data plan for another phone, I don't see why you would want another type of data plan on your account if your using a BB.

The native BB browser only works through BIS, unless you have the wifi browser that typically is installed as well but that only works when wifi is connected somewhere

GSync is OTA, you install the app and it syncs with you Google Account, GMail only connects through BIS I believe. But if your connected through wifi you can go to the www.gmail.com and check your mail that way. Yes GMail works with labels if you turn them on as well
