Just got off the line with Rogers -- a lengthy call involving 5 customer agents, bouncing from one person to another. An exercise in frustration. Each time you speak to someone, they ask you your 'security questions' to verify your identity. While waiting in cue, you also have no way of knowing how long the wait will be.... sort of like wearing a 'virtual blindfold'. You'd think they would have a way of notify the estimated time to wait in cue. Sheesh. But I digress...

The call started as I had problems switching my device on their BIS. They ran into problems when I asked to do the switch over the phone. I then asked the 'blackberry wireless support' agent how I can monitor bandwidth on the Blackberry. He said you can't do it on the device but you can do it on their web portal if you register it in your profile... so off I go to the next agent who registers my cell number in the profile and then says... sorry, our system won't tell you bandwidth either... you have to wait until you get your invoice.

Is there any way of finding out your bandwidth usage on the Blackberry other than waiting for one's invoice or using a utility like Minimon?

Mini Moni is the best app for monitoring data usage and it's free.
It's the first hit on google when you search for it

unfortuanly minimoni doesnt work on devices with OS 4.5+

The problem with Mobile Data Alerter is after installation, Memory Cleaning (option - security option -memory cleaning) status is locked to enabled even after uninstalling it.

whats the big deal about memory cleaner being turned on? i dont think there is... it cleans everything out which is a good thing...

No problem with it being turned on but it's a different thing if it is locked to enabled and you can't disable it. It adds a few secs/minutes to boot up time when enabled and I don't think it's good for a 3rd party software to lock things up in options even after uninstalling it.
