Default Blackberry vibrating in silent mode

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I've got a friend with a Blackberry Curve 8900 who is having a problem with it vibrating whilst it is in silent mode

It is definitely in silent mode and not on vibrate, and importantly it only happens sometimes.

I've got the Blackberry Bold 9000 and have not had a similar problem. Does anyone have any potential solutions for this problem that we could try out?? If so could you please let me know.

Thanks in advance,

Edit the profile for 'silent' mode. It's probably set to vibrate for some alert(s).

The profile names are just names. They don't dictate functionality.
I can make a profile called Silent and have all of the alerts ring, vibrate, whatever.

Wirelessly posted (My Bold)

When does it vibrate? When there is a call? Email?

Go to your Profiles then click on Advanced.

Highlight Vibrate (your current active mode) then hit the menu key, then Edit.

You can then highlight and go into any category on the list and change the settings.

Remember these are only for the Vibrate mode. But you can do this for any profile.

Make sure you hit menu and save before leaving each category on the list or the changes won't take.

Default Solved

Thanks guys. Problem solved.

I didn't think to check the profile for individual vibrate settings. I'm not sure why not -- guess we all have our off days!!!

Thanks again!!
