I have been used to using a pda, which showed on the desktop what the next appointment is, can this be done on the 8900?

That is generally controlled by themes. Check the Media section for more info. You can also search using Google on "BB 8900 themes". Make sure any theme you try to use is one specifically for the 8900.

Look for a "Today" theme...

There is no "Today" Theme out of the box with the 8900. You have to go to the Media Mall to purchase one for $8 or so.

ok, so I downloaded a theme in zip format, it contains a alx & cod file, being new to this, do I download onto blackberry or pc, what do i do next?

Download it to your PC, then use Desktop Manager's Add/Remove feature to add it.

Check out the Media Forum section for lots of great information on Themes.

If you use your BB Browser to get them from pimpmyberry.com you can just download them from there and not have to get invloved with desktop manager. In fact this is the only way to get themes from there.
