Default 8900 voice quality issue? background noise?

I just changed my pearl to 8900. Looks nice but I can tell the background noise during the call. Not as clean as Pearl. In another call, the voice quality was quite bad. Anyone notice this? Is there any setting to improve? Or maybe a defective one? Thanks.

Hmm - I might think a defective device. The call audio on mine is so quiet if I'm not talking people on the other end think the connection has been dropped and start asking me if I'm still there. On any of the calls I've been on where the quality was bad it was always the person on the other end.

Thanks for the info. When you say the "people on the other end think the connection has been dropped and start asking me if I'm still there", it means the outgoing voice is really good. Probably the same for my case. The incoming voice for me seems slightly background-noisy when no one was talking on the other end.

Exclamation Vioce quality on 8900

In some conditions I have found that the angle you hold the phone makes a big difference. The actual microphone hole on the 8900 appears to face away from your face on the bottom. I have found that tilting the bottom of the phone towards my mouth makes a big difference in how clearly I am heard on the other end
