Or he has a secured wireless router and he wants his device connected. Maybe he's asking help how to enter WEP keys in his device.

Sorry lad's im still gettng used to my phone.
Well when i search for a wireless router. and find mine. It comes up on my phone enter this pin into my wireless.
I know my wireless is on my computer. Im jut wondering if you's have any idea's | | Offline

I'm sorry - this makes no sense whatsoever.
Are you saying that your Wireless Router (WiFi) has secuity enabled, and the BB wants you to enter the security key. What PIN are you talking about? | | Offline

better yet, get it to the point of this message you see when setting up wireless, grab a digital camera, take a pic, and add as attachment to a reply in this thread....
at least then we can all see what you are talking about.

Gardner has a encrypted wireless. To connect to this wi-fi, Gardner needs to enter the security key.
Gardner,
The security key (that is not your device PIN) is on one side of the router. Enter that number to connect to wi-fi with your device. Usually, there are two numbers on the router. If not sure which one, try to enter both. The one that works is the right number. That is usually the one within brackets. | | Offline

security keys are not usually printed on the side of routers.....
its something you pick...
so you know and remember it.

guys you are looking to deep into this
his router has wifi protected setup
he will need to enter the pin into the router setup page
i only have a linksys router, so go to the router page normally 192.168.1.1
and go to the wireless tab, there you can enter the pin and register your phone.
if you click back instead of next when you scan for wireless routers, it allows you to enter the security key instead. or you could even use the push button setup which enters the pin to the router automatically just by pushing the wifi proctected setup botton on the front of the router.

i would say the confusion has come from the fact that very few routers have this option.
otherwise it would be a common occurence and we could have answered it.

I assume the PIN number is the system generated PIN number, not the PIN number of my BB 8900. Is that right? Thanks. | | Offline

I had to figure it out too. Like someone previously mentioned: Go to your router settings, click the wireless tab, then click Wi-Fi Protected Settings. Then enter the PIN that your Blackberry provided you. | | Offline

Hey I AM an idiot!! The guy knows what he's asking, because on the new blackberry storm 2 to set up your wi-fi you have to enter your PIN number into your wireless router if it is a secured network. He's just asking where and how do you enter it.
