All calls answered in speakerphone?

Can anyone tell me why? My 8900, just over the past few days, is answering every call in speakerphone mode when I hit answer. It stays this way for about 5 seconds, then goes to normal (handset) status. I cant find anything in options to change this, can anyone help?

try a battery pull.
