Today I was trying out moodio.fm to stream some police scanners. Its hit or miss just like with youtube.

I get the "an error has occurred attempting to play media". Is it just that the media player sucks on the BB's?

Lol @ police scanners. Dare I ask what you're doing that for?

I used to have that problem with youtube with my 8120 once in a while, but since switching over to my 8900, none so far. Works great, sorry to hear that it still does that on yours.

Ohh the police scanner stuff is strictly for entertainment. No illegal activities.

One thing I should note is that over wifi, everthing streams great, youtube.. all of it.

Im assuming this has to do with Cincinnati Bell's network when stremaing over edge/gprs.

I'm on Edge and youtube works fine. I mean it does buffer now and then..but for the most part it's really good. Of course WIFI will be great. I think moodio is just not that well developed. I used to have it. Does it now at least allow your screen to go dark or does it keep the media player screen on?

I have no luck with youtube even on wifi with cbw.

What OS are you both using. My phone says I have .176 and that is the latest cbw offers.

I don't think that version has good audio or video support on the 8900.

I believe it it the BB Media Player. I just recently updated my BB 8330 to 4.5.0.127. Before I did, Moodio.fm was hit and miss. I was also unable to close the media player while a stream was playing. If I did, the stream would quite. Since the upgrade, I am able to close the media player during a stream and continue listening. I have also had no problems getting the stream to work.

In the recent BB OS Upgrade they must have done some work to the Media Player.

I hope soon, I get audio cut outs with converted hi-res dvd's from my 8900 to my Plantronics 590e stereo bluetooth headphones. Either the 8900 or the 590e can't handle the volume with the hi-res and audio combined. I am betting on the 8900 as the problem.

Don't wait for your carrier to release. Install the version in the sticky at the top and follow instructions as posted to install on any carrier.

I have read a lot of posts where people have lost some functions with non-supported upgrades. I.E. I use Telenav thru CBW. I would like to get lucky and have someone with CBW confirm the same problem I have and eliminated it by upgrading OS. I think I am dreaming on that wish.

i've read that some people have problems streaming youtube as well as me. but mine is terrible, i can't stream at all. my curve 8900 can barely stream with wifi.......why is this? is there any updates? ALSO, i have version 4.6, can i update this to a more recent blackberry version? if so, where? thank you! x

p.s. i just tried with wifi now, and it doesn't stream at all, it says i may have either javascript turned off or old version of adobe flash player........ :(
