Default Redirect with Desktop Manager - 07-01-2009, 11:47 PM

I am a new owner of a BB 8900 and can not seem to find an answer to a what appears to be a basic question: "Once syncronized with the Desktop Manager, does the 8900 have to be remained plugged into the PC to recieve messages from Outlook?"
Thanks, Ron

Im assuming we're using Blackberry Redirector?
FRom what Ive read, no it does need to be plugged in, but the PC has to remain on 24/7 to get emails 24/7

I get e-mails forwarded from Outlook regardless of whether the base PC is on or not. I guess it depends on where the e-mails from Outlook originate from?....all the e-mails I have coming into Outlook are from web based e-mail such as Clara or Yahoo. I just set it up the same as any of the other e-mail accounts I've sync'd to the BB.

That makes a good point.
Syncing with Desktop manager has nothing to do with emails.
Setting up email to your BB you do on your carriers BIS site.
You enter the email address and password, if BIS can configure, it does so, or asks for mail server address etc, then you email is forwarded to your BB direct from the server.

Man, that would negate the point of mobile email wouldn't it?
