Question Wifi problem... - 07-03-2009, 11:30 PM

Hi guys, i recently got a blackberry 8900. On the first day before i inserted a sim card in it i was webbrowsing on it with wifi. However after i inserted a simcard my wifi stopped working. It would connect but it says "unable to obtain an IP address". NO i do not have DATA plan.




Anyone know whats up? any help would b great.

i had to call my carrier and get connected to their BB dpt and have them tell me the IP address b/c the one listed in the phone was incorrect

Your carrier doesn't have anything to do with your wifi. The whole point of wifi is NOT using your carrier but using your isp instead.

When you scan for networks, what does it say?
