Default PIN already registered?? Need help with email setup.

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased an unlocked t mobile phone to use with att. I added the bb personal plan today to setup my yahoo email. When I try to do so it says that a PIN is already registered?? What does this mean and how do I correct it? I just wiped the unit clean and it still displays the same message. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You need to contact the person you purchased the phone from and have them call their carrier to release their BIS account, that will free up the PIN.

Try setting up the Blackberrry email account on the device first. Go to the setup wizard and then email. Once that's done, it should resolve your problem.

Won't work. Email is email and if the PIN is already used, email cannot be set up another way.

The PIN is in use by the previous owner and is still register to their account. There are only 2 ways to get it released that I know of. One, have the previous owner call their carrier and cancel their BIS account which will release it. Or two, the new owner call their carrier and plead their case. Some carriers will help, others will not.

or try 3. (I think this will work)

get someone with a BIS account go in and "change device" put your PIN and IMEI.
wait while it all loads up on the BlackBerry.
once its finished change it back to your friends IMEI and PIN
that will then allow you to create a new account. (in theory)

the IMEI and PIN are no longer associated to a BIS account??
so you maybe able to create a new one!

don't forget to wipe your device!
