Does the Blackberry 8900 have a stopwatch or lap counter function or both?

Yes. It's there in the Main Menu.

Hi, Click on the clock Icon and then press the BB button to the left of the trackball. You should see an option for the Stopwatch and for a timer. It also has a bedside option.

Its a really cool stopwatch. Even has a lap counter.
