If my memory is correct, there is not an easy way to do this, other than copy one by one.

Can you sync your old device with Outlook or one of the other BB supported PIMs or Google Contacts? If so, you can then sync your new BB with your choice and the contacts would come over.

thanks, thats what i wanted to do. .....however, just had a brain wave and it worked! put orange sim in old unlocked phone, copied contacts to phone, swiped sims to new vodafone sim and copied contacts from phone to sim, popped sim back in BB, and hey presto all 350 contacts are there.......simple!, thanks guys for your input, i feel there are many things i have yet to discover about BB's as we have just got 3 of they (and a couple of i phone 3gs)
so its good to know there are people who understand them
thanks

If your carrier is vodafone, can you amend that in your profile.

Isn't there such a device for SIM cards that's like a memory card reader for the PC? I don't have any experience with it, but maybe that'll get the gears turning.

Hi there, did it also transferred the multiple nos per contact? i.e. for eg. if contact 'B' was listed with home, business, and couple of mobile nos, thn did it transfer all that?

No. contacts are split.
i.e. a SIM card can only hold one number person person.
so if there are two numbers for JOHN
it will create JOHN 1
JOHN 2
